Hear for yourselves from our “little missionaries”.

Josephine (12) shares :

During the Christmas project, I helped to insert flyers into the Christmas CDs, distribute CDs around the neighborhood, and helped with the 2 Christmas parties. It was fun doing these different things, especially during the Christmas party where I felt really good reaching out to Japanese people. During the kids’ party, we were able to share the true meaning of Christmas through fun games and activities. I am sure that some of the kids that came would have learned a few things about the true meaning of Christmas. This part of the project (the kids’ Christmas party) showed me that there are still so many kids in Japan and in this world who still do not know about the true meaning of Christmas and that we can reach out to them in creative ways through fun games and activities. There was another Christmas party on Christmas day mainly for adults. I was surprised at the number of people who came for the Christmas party. There were about 40 people from the community who came and most of them were non-Christians. There were Singapore food, a skit and a message. When we asked how many people would like to receive Jesus as their savior, there were five people who raised their hands. I was really touched to see so many non Christians come (to witness this number of non-Christians at an evangelistic event is a miracle itself). I hope and I think that the message alone have affected many peoples’ lives. This whole project with the Christmas CDs, the parties, and the S’pore team has been a great experience and I hope that this year’s (2010) Christmas would also touch and change many peoples’ lives.

Angela (10) shares :

I wanted to help because I wanted to work for God. Because we should work and be proud of ourselves. And be happy while working. (Angela’s own words, no editing)
It was fun! I enjoyed helping the Singapore team. I especially like the preparation and distribution of CD’s. And I also helped with getting props for the skit.
I also made a friend, Amanda, from the Singapore team. At first I didn’t know her as it was her first time joining the team. Even though we only has a short time together, I felt she’s a big ‘jie jie’ (sister) to me. Every time I go back to S’pore, I can look forward to meeting her and the other big ‘jie jie’ in the team.
Through this project, I learned that we should be friends to everyone, Christians or non-Christians.

“Little Missionaries” : Homeless Outreach

Josephine shares :

Imagine waking up every morning with only a piece of cardboard, a thin jacket and maybe a thin blanket in the winter. Can you imagine the cold they have to bear? This is the real situation of the homeless. They are homeless primarily because they have lost their jobs and could not afford housing. Does anyone care about them? Does anyone notice them? Who will help them? But little did these people know that there are kids out there who are ready to help even when you have to wake up as early as 4 in the morning. In January every year, different middle school classes (6th – 8th grade) from Christian Academy in Japan (CAJ) go out in the cold to give food to the homeless at Ikebukuro station. This year, nine groups of about 10 students per group took turns each day to reach out to the homeless. My group went out on Jan. 14th. The night before, I packed five breakfasts consisting: a ham & cheese sandwich, a hard boiled egg, a banana, 2 plain croissants, 2 chocolate croissants, a can of coffee, and an almond chocolate bar. I also packed 5 smaller bags with 2 plain croissants and 2 chocolate croissants. An evangelistic “hope” booklet was inserted in each bag too.

August Updates

Dear friends,

Click here to read Our Prayer letter August 2009.
4 pages with some very special pictures.
For reduced size, reading only, click here.
We appreciate your prayers for us and our ministry.
We thank God for protecting us during our time in Singapore. This is how it happened. My mom and dad read to me about the bible and also about God. Jesus died on the cross for my sins. I need Jesus in my heart to forgive me. And, I know that God loves me very much. So, I prayed and became a Christian.

When I do something wrong, and ask Him for forgiveness. I know God will forgive me because He loves me very much.

Because Jesus is in my heart, I know he is with me always. Even though I’m alone he is with me. When I have nightmares, God protects me.
When I was five, I looked around me at what God created and it was so beautiful. I also went to a Japanese preschool and I saw that God made everyone different. I made a lot of friends, and we played together. Now I am nine years old and I am ready to get baptized. I want to be baptized because I want to know him more. I will still continue to believe and enjoy Gods creations. I will also continue reading the bible. I need you in my prayers as I continue to follow my Lord Jesus. I really love God so much!

THANK YOU!!!!!!

Special Updates Part 1

Dear Partners in missions,

This Christmas has been a special time for us, just to share a few:
1. A mission team from S'pore churches (including our church) came to reach the communities in our areas in Japan. They distributed more than 7,000 CDs and tracts. They conducted an evangelistic outreach in our local church. More than 23 Japanese came. It was their first time hearing the Gospel.

2. Though there was not many teams that came to help with our Christmas CD Projects, surprisingly, more than 200,000 CDs was out! More than 3,000 visited the official website, which include a Gospel presentation. And, 78 indicated that they invited Christ into their lives through the CD/website! Praise the Lord!

3. There was campus outreaches all over Japan. Okinawa, Fukuoka, Kyoto, Osaka, Nagoya, Yokohama, Tokyo and Sendai!

4. Recently, Angela & Josephine asked me(WK) what i want for Christmas. After thinking, i told them these 3 'items' : a 30cm ruler, a Liver(for a child that we have been praying for.) and a cure for Cancer (for a staff that we have been praying for.)
Well, they bought me the ruler, and, this evening, we received the email that the child got the Liver (transplant). Now, i am still anticipating God to answer this(cure for Cancer)...

We continue to pray that God will be very special to at all times.

Please pray for us as we take a short break(rest) and seek God for wisdom & strength for WK as he take new challenges in the coming year. And, that this break would be a good time for our family to be together.

Thank you for your special support & prayer.

(we'll try to share with you more & with pictures, soon.)

Till another Japanese hears the Gospel,
WK, Jaine, Josephine and Angela.

December 2008-

"Jehovah-jireh" which can be translated 'The Lord will see to it'

Dear All, (attached for color version. PDF)

For the past couple months, we have been overwhelmed with the news of "World financial crisis, retrenchment, cut in bonuses or no bonuses, recession, etc,..." We might be affected directly or indirectly as we know of friends who are suffering. For us as we make adjustments to our living, we are constantly reminded that our God is Our Jehovah Jireh. He will provide, but, there will be testings, too, as we trust Him. (Gen22:1-19)

With the Yen rising crazily, we are definitely affected. Since Oct, we have been receiving much lesser yen equivalent to about S$690 less per month. As a result, we need to find ways to cut down on our daily expenses. Being the one who budget for the family, Jaine worries over how we can pay for the girls' tuition fees, no savings and to has be extra careful in what we spend on. In the midst of all these worries & concerns, God reminded us to be thankful and content with what we presently have. Hey, we still could afford to buy rice (why rice? maybe because rice is an expensive commodity) and daily food necessities.

God not only provided us what we needed, He provided us in abundance.

The Abundance Story
One day,　Weng Kong met a man ("angel from the Lord") & shared with him about his prayer & burden to provide food as an encouragement to our staff, and he said, 'OK.'The man has connections with a large chain wholesale Center and could provide us with food with expired shelf life but still fine for a week or more.In the 2nd week of November, he provided our ministry with more than 65 boxes of croissants (20 croissants per box), 10 bags of bread rolls (30 rolls per bag) & lots of bagels. With all these we were able to distribute them to our staff family. PROVISION OVERFLOWING IN ABUNDANCE!!!

These provision has definitely helped us cut costs.Through this same "angel", more bread, bagels, Christmas cake loaves were provided for the campus ministry Thanksgiving outreach party at the end of Nov and there were plenty left over. PROVISION OVERFLOWING IN ABUNDANCE!!!

Recently, Weng Kong was at the Wholesale Center (another branch) and met a former JCCC office staff. After taking with her about the food donations that we got, the staff suggested him to try to sign up for regular donations... Well, he did and he was put on roster to collect food donations every 1st and 3rd Sunday. He get to go to the store and load up whatever that is available! On the 1st Sunday of Dec, another staff joined him and they loaded the van with food for distribution to a widow with kids, our staff and also for the campus ministry Christmas home parties. And, we still have much for our family, too! PROVISION OVERFLOWING IN ABUNDANCE!!!

While sharing this with another friend, he commented that this was similar to the Book of Acts! ... God provided and everyone had enough. We are hoping and planning to get the food, too, for missionaries and International students in Japan. Our hearts are truly flowing with thanksgiving to our God who watches over us and provides for our needs IN ABUNDANCE!!!

We pray that you will experience God's special way of provision to your special needs. Please pray with us:
1. Christmas CD Project outreaches on many campuses in whole of Japan. Many of the Christmas CDs are out and, through our website, we received more than 50 indicating that they invited Christ into their lives!

2. From 13th - 20th Dec, a mission team is partnering with our church to reach the community. We will give out the CDs to the neighbourhood and conduct an evangelistic meeting on the 19th Dec. Pray that many will come for the meeting.

3. Next year, 6th June to 24th August 2009, we are planning to go on our home assignment (furlough). Pray with us that we can 'find' enough mileages to purchase the tickets.

4. Jaine, for strength to handle the financial work in JCCC and things at home.

Thank you for praying with us.
Weng Kong, Jaine, Josephine and Angela.

November 2008 Updates

Dear Partners in missions, (attached for color version)

On TV, I believe what have been catching our attention is the main news of the world economic crisis, the election of the new US president, etc,... But on homefront, besides the "crazy" raising yen, the political environment that surrounds the election of the new prime minister, what really caught our attention were the devastating news of youths/young adults (16 -24 yrs old) going to the streets with a knife & stabbing ANYONE, or drive a vehicle & knocking down WHOEVER. "ANYONE would do, I don't care" were the comments.
Please pray for the youth, that they would experience God's love and know that there is a GOD who cares for them.

Thank you for praying with us. The Christmas CDs were ready in Mid-October and there are people who have already responded to the website. More than 2 indicated that they invited Christ into their lives! Pray that many more would receive the CD & hear the Gospel message. Pray, too, that many (Japanese / International churches, other missions groups, Japanese Christians) would use this CD to share the Gospel with the Japanese.

Due to the world economic crisis, people all over the world are having to deal with tough situations in life. In Japan, the "crazy"rise in the Yen, we believe, is affecting the missionaries here, as we have to be wise with our spending due to the lesser yen we received from our paycheck. It is not easy for us but we are constantly reminded of HIS grace.
Just today, God reminded me (Jaine) again "to come to HIM with thanks for ALL the things that He has blessed us with & NOT to focus on the things we don't have. Thanking God for ALL He has given us help us quickly gain a renewed perspective."
Let's remember to pray that in whatever tough situation we all are facing, that we will choose to remember that God is in control and learn to be content.

Christmas is Over?Well, with the Christmas Outreach moving on, WK began working on dubbing the movie 'Magdalena'. http://www.magdalenamovie.com/
We took about 2-3 weeks to translate & check the script and this week (11th-15th Nov), the Japanese dubbing has begun. We covet your prayers :

1. WK has been sick for more than 10 days, not fully recovered yet.
2. The dubbing is long & tiring, especially scenes like 'women possessed by the evil spirit',.. 'Jesus dying on the cross'. Pray for God's protection on the actors and actresses involved in the dubbing. Pray, too, that God will touch the lives of the actors and actresses through the movie as they do the dubbing.
3. Pray that the system would not break down!
4. Most of all, pray that many Japanese would get to know Jesus through this movie.

While Jaine is helping with the National Finance, she is also helping with the preparation in sending 2 Japanese short term workers to Sydney. By faith, we are trusting God to send them this Friday(14th Nov).Pray for Jaine as she helps them with the finance & admin preparation.

Our girls:
Angela turned 9 this month! She will be particiapting in the Annual Charity Run on Nov 22 organized by the Elementary school to raise money for 'Wheelchairs of Hope'. She will be running for 1 hour that day and is busy asking people to support this Run by giving a one-time gift or a certain amount for every lap she runs. We are thankful for this experience she could have to raise funds for the not so fortunate ones.

Josephine, a 6th grader, has adjusted well to Middle School life and had the opportunity to participate in Cross Country this past Fall season. For the Winter season (Nov-Feb), she has signed up for Field Hockey. We are thankful for her spirit of wanting to try out different sports, yet at the same time, we are concerned about the safety of this sport. "What is this sport? Will she get hit on her face? etc,..." Of course the school have safety precautions ready for this sport but as parents, we are still concerned.

Josephine has been growing (fast), too. And, as we were running out of slacks for her, one of our church member asked us if we need clothings for our girls. We said YES, and, there were some good slacks for her, too! Indeed God knows our needs and YOUR needs, all the time. We are praying that God will amazing continuously bless all of you, too.

We would also appreciate your prayers for our finacial needs, too.

Do send us your prayers, too!
Thank you for your partnership with us in so many ways.

Till another Japanese hears the gospel,
WK, Jaine, Josephine & Angela

www.geocities.jp/wkjaine63

2008/09/29

Dear friends in missions,
Thank you for praying with us. Recently, we discovered that the site that kept updating our prayer updates had stopped, and lost all of our data :( We decided to try to recover it through past emails. And, put that into a blog. As we insert them in, we read of how God has been working through all of us and, how He answered prayers.
We pray that you, too, would be encouraged by His Goodness &Faithfulness as you read the blog.

Thanksgiving:
1. We have already finished developing this year's Christmas CD! You can catch a glimpse of the songs & draft jacket design here: www.japanccc.org/Christmas2008/
Please pray with us that we can get the CDs pressed and sent to Japan by early October. And, that many Japanese would hear the Gospel through this CD.

2. WK is working on dubbing the movie Magdalena(http://www.magdalenamovie.com/ ) into Japanese. It is very challenging & alot obstacles. Please pray for wisdom and strength as we work on it. Pray, too, that God would provide the funds for this project.
We pray that many Japanese, especially ladies would get to know God through this movie, too.

3. We are also excited as God is leading JCCC to pioneer Citywide movements in Japan through our Campus and Community teams. Please pray for wisdom as WK and the Leadership team plan strategically how to reach these cities.
4. Our girls are growing and getting more independent. That gave Jaine more time to help with the Financial dept in the National office. Please pray for strength as she balance all areas of her life. Now, she is in charge of certain National financial areas and oversees the oversea staff's financial situations.

5. Josephine is doing cross-country and learning clarinet. Presently, we are renting it from school, if you have 1 and if you are not using, please let us know...
Angela is learning more new things from school and she enjoys writing 'stories'.
Please pray with us, that they would continue to grow deep in Him.
How old are they? Josephine is 11 and Angela will be 9 (in Nov.)

We constantly pray for you and your family, too. Please do update us, too,so that we can pray specifically for you.

Till another Japanese hears the Gospel,
Weng Kong, Jaine, Josephine and Angela.

2008/08/15

Dear Partners in Missions,

Thank you for sharing with us your needs! You must have been praying with us! And, God is good, all the(HIS) time!

Thanksgiving:
a. The DVD master for the olympic DVD reached Korea & they are trying to get the mass production to us as soon as possible.
b. At the same time, the Wedding DVD (contains testimonies of couples, drama version of the Gospel presentation & the Jesus film) is DONE!
c. We, also, finished the training DVD that contains teaching Japanese how to share the gospel, etc.

Now, once the Olympic DVD is finished, they will ship ALL the 3 items to us! Thank you for praying. It is going to be a busy & exciting Summer!

Narnia In Japan
Recently, WK worked on an evangelistic site, narniajapan.com , and, more than 2,000 access the site & about 100 read the Gospel presentation. Please pray that God will continue to work in their hearts.

Money Matters
Jaine has been working on preparing the mission teams budget.
- This year, we will be sending mission teams to East Asia, Sydney & 2 local missions and,
- To prepare the budget for sending our Japanese staff for long term missions!
- She is also helping with the National Finacial matters, too. We thank God that He is using her in this unique area to support the Japan team!

Please pray as we:
a. Prepare to receive a mission team, this July, to help reach the working adults in downtown Tokyo. We will also be working with another organization in reaching this area, too.
b. WK would need to support 3 groups of mission teams going to Okinawa, Fukuoka & Sapporo this summer(July-August). We are expecting about 50-80 members going to these 3 areas to share the gospel with the locals.

We appreciate You for giving to our needs & praying for our needs. But, yes, our support is still getting lower. However, we remembers God's faithfulness to us (and you) for these past 15 years in Japan! God has been providing us & we believe that He still WILL, to us & to you.

Till another Japanese hears the Good News
Weng Kong, Jaine, Josephine & Angela

2008/06/12

Dear friends,

Thank you for your constant support & prayers for us & the work in Japan.

The past few months has been a busy time, and, times that we were physically & mentally tired. But, we know that you have been praying with us & God WILL give us the strength to go on.
Just recently, a lady, who was quite sick, read the 4 Spiritual Laws (gospel presentation) on our site & called our office. She indicated that she wants to know more. Our receptionist, through the phone call, lead her to invite Christ into her life! Now, we are helping her with follow-up, too. Sometimes, I think that no one would read itor even call-in for advice, but, God remembers & HE would honor our 'little' works, too.
Please pray with us that WK and some others would get together to pioneer Internet Evangelism for Japan. WK is working towards organising Forums for this purpose, too.

Thank you for praying for Jaine. She is a great resource & help to the National Financial Dept for JCCC. And, helping with the administration for Mission sending. Jaine is helping the teams to prepare for their overseas mission trips. Please pray for strength and wisdom in preparing the teams' budget and getting good & cheap airfares!

Our girls finished their school, too! Because, Jaine, sometimes, needs to be in office, our girls are Home Alone! Please pray for safety & that they would grow more in all areas during this summer break.

Strategical Planning Process.
WK is leading & working with the National Leadership team in re-aligning our goals and strategies for JCCC. Please pray that God would lead him as he lead the team! The team would be meeting more regularly, too. So, please pray for WK to have physical & mental strength to guide the team. Recently, we met & we are all very excited as how God is re-aligning our ministry vision and goals! (Will share more...)

Remembered the Olympic DVD... there has been much hiccups & it is NOT ready, yet. Few weeks back, we decided to include the Jesus film in it & as a result, there were some technical problems. Please pray with us that it can be fixed by this week! More info here: http://struggleandtriumph.com/

The prices of things in Japan is going up. We are appreciative that SingaporeCCC has planned to help all our staff through adjustment in our allowance(salary). Our support needs has been dropping. Please pray with us that God would provide and increase our needs.

What's your needs? Do share with us, too, so that we can keep praying for you.

Thank you, again, for standing with us in the mission fields.
Till another Japanese hears the Good News
Weng Kong, Jaine, Josephine & Angela

Project Chengdu (2008/05/16)

Dear Partners in missions,

WK just came back from a week-long conference in Thailand. It was lots of 'strategical planning'... and, we heard of many great things that God has done in East Asia in 2007, more than 41 million heard the gospel and over 4.7 million indicated decisions for Christ.
In Japan, too, for the past many years, number of churches has been declining to about 7,000. But, in 2007, there are now, over 8,000 churches in Japan!

As we rejoice, let's continue to trust Him for greater things. I believe that you are feeling the same way as we do about what's happening in Myammar and China. Here's an opportunity to participate in the relief work in helping the earthquake victims in ChengDu. Several towns had been wiped out in the earthquake, at least 40,000 lives have been lost (numbers are escalating). Besides praying for these victims, we hope to do more….SCCC will be working closely with the medical teams that are sent out from Medical Missions Clinic. The following are ways that you could help:
Be involved yourself, mobilizing students, church members, etc for the following work.
Be part of the medical teams to bring in medical & logistics supplies to Chengdu (training for post trauma counseling will be provided).
* All participants are required to pay for the total cost of the trip. (Estimated cost per pax is $ 1,500 . There will also be a pre-trip briefing for each team. The dates of the teams are as follows:
Team 1 - 21st May to 29th May, Dr Ong Lay Siang
Team 2 - 31st May to 7th June, Dr Ho See Yunn
Team 3 - 8th June to 16th June,
Team 4 - 15th June to 23rd June, Dr Joshua Wong
*We are also looking for doctors and nurses who could also be part of the team. Please inform our SCCC office Tel:(65) 6223 2269
Help out with packing of medical supplies at Choon Kit’s clinics (as of now, the supplies are for the relief work @ Myanmar). Packing will commence on 15 May @ 24 Lim Tua Tow Road (near Serangoon MRT). The packing is expected to continue for the next few days. Anyone who could avail their help, pls call SCCC office & ask for Tony's contact (or they will refer you to some). or visit our website: sccc.org.sg
For friends in Japan: Here's some info: http://www.crashjapan.com/

Thank you again for being so special to us in reaching the world together.
Till another Japanese hears the Good NewsWeng Kong, Jaine, Josephine & Angela

Love God Love People (2008/04/25)

Dear friends,

Thank you for praying with us. Time 'flies'! It is already Spring in Japan. In this new season, God is challenging us to new grounds. But, before sharing more with you, here's some thanksgivings and prayer.

Our time in Singapore (Feb 2008).
Non of our non-Christians families invited Christ into their lives, but, we have some opportunities to share the Gospel with them. Through this experience, we felt the urgency 'more' to desire them to invite Christ into their lives. We were also encouraged by some of our friends that wants to trust God to see their families save, too! Let's continue to pray for our love ones that are still not save and trust God for active opportunities to share the Gospel with them.

Recently, I was reading 2Cor 4. And, again, I was reminded & 'strengthen' to share God's love to people and show God's love to people. This challenges us to trust Him for some additonal challenges ahead of us that we need YOUR prayers and support.

1. Reaching a special group of people.
Recently, WK is working on a special DVD, that is to reach Aids victim. This presentation is to share with others how some of them overcome DEATH and sharing Hope with their lives. WK is working with a local Japanese organisation and US (http://www.hopepositive.com/) on this. Please pray that we can get it ready before a HIV/Aids related conference in June. And, for wisdom to share the real Hope with them.

2. Learning NEW 'stuff' !
After much learning & training, Jaine is helping in the finance dept Japan CCC National office. She is helping with some key areas and learning things that WK don't understand! Most important, she sees that God is using her in this area to support staff reaching others in the field.
She, even made a trip to Osaka to 'teach' the staff about 'money matters'! Amazingly, she can still do housework, ... & cook for us!!

3. Wisdom to lead others to lead.
Presently, WK is overseeing these areas:
a. Supporting the staff team in Sendai in their ministry. (Once or twice a month, WK will go to Sendai to minister to the staff and support them in their campus & community outreaches.)
b. Working with a few staff in partnering with local churches to reach Sappporo, Kanto area, Fukuoka & Okinawa. Presently, we have already seen generations of Pastors raise and missionaries sent through this team. Pray for us as we take the next stage. (attached)
c. Reaching students through the internet. (This is his 3rd year in this area. Pray for breakthrough!)

And, please pray as WK is seeking to raise up the next leaders to take over his tasks.

4. No more barbies!
Josephine and Angela are growing! Reading, playing basketball, Cluedo, writing & computer are some of the things that they are doing! They'll be 11 and 9 yrs old! But, one thing that has not change: i.e. They kept praying for people specifically, and by names. This reminds us that God hears our needs and He will answer them specifically, too!

Please pray with us, too, as we are seeking God to join some mission trips during this summer.

What's your needs? Do share with us, too, so that we can keep praying for you.

Thank you, again, for standing with us in the mission fields.

Attached is Updates from Okinawa Project.

Till another Japanese hears the Good News
Weng Kong, Jaine, Josephine & Angela

2008/01/15

Dear Partners in missions,

Thank you for praying with us. We are still getting more stories about the Christmas CD 2007 Project. But, there are so many things that happened that we cannot wait to share the happenings with you. Attached is our first part for you to read & thank the Lord with us.

We will share more, once we put more stories together.

And, please pray with us:
1. That we will follow through with those who prayed & invited Jesus into their lives.

2. Please pray for WK, as he will be leading the JCCC leadership & directors in the strategical planning process on the 23rd Jan 2008.

3. THEN, immediately, he will fly to Okinawa to join more than 100 Koreans in reaching the communities there.

4. At home, please pray for Jaine as she work with the office staff in learning the New Financial System. Pray for wisdom in learning, applying & good health, too.

5. Pray for Josephine as she work on an Independent Study project on Dolphins. And, Angela has been working & learning ALOT of new things. One interesting thing that she does, is writing stories!

6. We will be making a special trip to Singapore during 7th-17th Feb 2008.
Last year, WK & Jaine had separate opportunities to be in S'pore & both of us were touch by God to reach out to our families. After much prayer, we are planning to be with our families for this Chinese New Year. Our prayer is for them to see Josephine & Angela, and, for us to listen to their needs & to share the Gospel with them.
Please pray with us, that God will provide all that we need for this travel and,
Pray for our families.

We pray that you, too, would trust God for divine opportunities to reach out to your families, too!

attached is the prayerletter

Till another Japanese hears the Good News
Weng Kong, Jaine, Josephine & Angela

2007/12/06

Dear Partners in missions,

Thank You so much for praying with us. Especially for Jaine, too! Now she's knows more about ministry accounting & operating COMPUTER!!!

1. Jaine had a fruitful time in S'pore & the training was enriching for her. She's using her 'free time' to help with office & now she would need her own PC! Presently, she is using WK's office PC. ... well, she get priority "sometimes".... :)

WK was amazed himself, too, for being able to settle his workload, attend long meetings & still cooked! Thanks to Josephine's & Angela's wonderful behaviour & a short term missionary's helped WK when he needed 'childcare'! And, your prayers, too!
Now, WK is taking leave to sleep. zzz...

2. Christmas CD.
We might get into a good situation... we might run out of CDs before Christmas! Many Churches & organisation had ordered it. PTL!
Pray with us that the 200,000 CDs would reach & open the hearts of Japanese.

Some Thanksgiving:
a. As WK was delivering some CDs to a church, the Pastor's wife told him that a lady received the CD last year, joined the church & recently, was baptised!
b. 3 persons indicated online that they received Christ into their lives! One of them gave his email, so one of our staff is contacting him!
c. WK's driving improved!? or protected by God. In one location, he has to drive through a very narrow roads with tied turns, too. That, when he wants to return, he needs to make a '3 point turn'(U-turn) that half of his car went into the front porch of a shop! (the shop was closed, then)
d. Recently, during Halloween,... many of 'previous edition' Christmas CD was given out, too!

Please pray:
i. We will be conducting 5 evangelistic meetings targetting working adults.(2 locations on 7th & 14th, one combine on 21st). Pray that many would come.
ii. WK is working with campus teams to conduct Christmas outreaches in Osaka, Nagoya, Yokohama, Saitama &Tokyo prefectures. Pray that we will be able to reach many students for Christ.
iii. Please pray for WK's knee. (Maybe because of all the carrying, too). It is an old injury that re-occurred. The doctor extracted some liquids, then, he did something new (to WK), he injected medicine into his knees! Almost cried. Couldn't walk for awhile,... Please just pray that the pain would not 'increase'.

3. Family:
Thank you for praying for our family back home.
Please pray with us as we are considering to make an extra trip as a family to spend time with our families. Maybe next Chinese New Year. Especially for our parents to see their grandchildren and, we hope to share the Gospel 'actively' with them.
Please pray with us, because this would be personal family travel. So, we are considering all factors.

Till another Japanese hears the Good News
Weng Kong, Jaine, Josephine & Angela

remember those kids that can't even walk (2007/11/17)

Dear all,

Thank you for keeping us in prayers. Part 2 (2007/11/02)

Dear all, Thank you for your prayers & support.

1. Recently, God taught us something special through Josephine & Angela:For about 2 weeks, they were raising funds for a Charity run. Some sponsored them one time gift, some gave a certain amount/lap (e.g. 100Yen, 10 laps= Y1,000.) But, we had a real typhoon that day. We were wet even holding an umbrella! Despite the heavy rain & wind (typhoon), Josephine & Angela ran 8 Km each (20 laps)! They were running with ONE purpose: For the wheelchair of Hope. http://k-kurumaisu.org/
They knew that the more laps, means more donations for the Charity. We learnt not to give up, keep focusing & don't complaint.

Here's some pictures:
Charity Run 2007http://www.flickr.com/photos/13133089@N08/sets/72157602808098506

2. WK spent a few months working on the "Red Sox DVD" (evangelistic tool. testimonies of players that won the 2004 series.). Yes, they won. Honestly speaking, I thought they would lose the AL when they were 3 down. I prayed, because the DVD was in the process of pressing. And, God surprised me. (and the Red Sox, too.)a. 500 copies already given to an International Elementary school.b. More than 1,000 copies given to churches keen to use it.c. 100 copies to Campus ministry (Tokyo). I think already all given out.Heard that 1 was given to a non-Christian. & the staff is asking for 50 more copies. d. Even the crusade mums are using it.e. I will be attending a Church planting Conference next week & they have given me an opportunity to share this & the Christmas CD.

3. Christmas CDs ...ALMOST ready. It is in Korea now for pressing(mass production), then shipped to Tokyo on the 5th. Pray that it will clear the customs quickly, so that we can have it sooner for distributions. Please pray, too, as we find accomodations & meeting places for teams coming to help with the distributions. You can see sample of the CD cover here: http://www.japanccc.org/christmas/order/esample.htm

Recently, WK was sicked for a week, now, he is slightly feeling better. But, Jaine is kinda catching a flu...

4.a. WK will be attending a conference in Japan from 7th - 9th Nov. Pray for him as he meets & share with Pastors & Organisation leaders about the Christmas CD & other strategies to reach Japan.THEN,...b. On the 10th Nov, Jaine will fly to S'pore to attend a Financial Training till 26th Nov.Pray for her to learn well & come back to help the JCCC financial dept. For the past few weeks, we have been going through some REAL challenges. During these times, we are always reminded to PRAY.

1. Christmas CD 2007.
a. WK & the team has been working late into the night for days. We have almost finish with the master CD. But, 1 of the programmer's PC almost died! This PC got all the datas!
And, past 2 weeks, WK was down with slight flu.

However, we should finish the master today(Friday 19th Oct), test it,.. please pray for no 'bug' so that we can send it for pressing(mass productions) as soon as possible. I attached 2 screen pic of the CD contents.
You can find out more in facebook, under group: 'Christmas CD 2007 in Japan'.

b. Please pray with us that we can find good housings for people coming to Japan to help with distributing the CDs. And, good & cheap meeting spots to hold evangelistic meetings.
We have been have difficulties getting housings & meeting spots on those dates that we want.

2. Movements:
a. WK will be attending a conference in Japan from 7th - 9th Nov. Pray for him as he meets & share with Pastors & Organisation leaders about the Christmas CD & other strategies to reach Japan.

THEN,...
b. On the 10th Nov, Jaine will fly to S'pore to attend a Financial Training till 26th Nov.
Pray for her to learn well & come back to help the JCCC financial dept. She will be learning more 'new' Japanese words!
At the same time, pray for WK as he take care of the girls & the Christmas CD project.
(pray for good health & good management of time.)

3. WK's family
a. One of WK's siblings might be filing for a divorce. Please pray for us to have wisdom to listen & talk with her.

b. Thank you for praying for Josephine's baptism.(pic in hp) She was an encouragement to some to take the step of faith to get baptised, too! Pray with us, as she is praying for a macbook... She is willing to give up other stuff, just to get this for her school work!

c. We will be planning for Angela's Birthday on the 5th Nov. She wants all her friends to know Jesus. Pray that we will be able to share the gospel creatively with her friends. BTW, her theme is 'Miss Bunny' !?

As we approach the Christmas season, I pray that YOU & I would take some special time with Him. Because it was Him that makes that DAY special.

Till another Japanese hears the Good NewsWeng Kong, Jaine, Josephine & Angela

Christmas Cd in making (2007/09/19)

Dear all,

Please pray with us as we work on the Christmas CD.

a. Christmas CD.
Weng Kong started working on the CD since February 2007! Praise God that all the songs are done(end August), now, we are working on the CD-software part of the CD..? So that you can view the Jesus film, & watch Coach Hillman's testimonies. Please pray as we put it together & also, please pray for the design, too!

2. Olympics.
The big country has been part of our hearts, too. Many times, we prayed for that country. And, WK did pray about how to use tools to reach the place thru' the Olympics. Recently, someone contacted him & invited him to join to produce a 40 language evangelistic DVD for the Olympics! Praise The Lord!
Please pray as WK already started working on the contents for the Japanese part of the DVD!!!!!!!!!

3. Seeing Figures \\\
This August, Jaine step into the office & joined the JCCC financial team to strengthen the existing account system. She LOVEs figures (and maybe money?), so, she is enjoying what God is giving her to do. Oh, the girls, too, enjoyed going to the office to enjoy the air-con, work abit & go on the internet!

4. Kids at work.
Because mom was in office, they, too, have to be there. Sometimes, they would help around, sometimes, they would add some music to the office?

Please pray, as WK will be leading the JCCC Leadership in strategical Planing Process on the 5th - 6th Sept. Pray for wisdom as he lead the group.

BUT, we did took a break & drove to the countryside, to the farm! All of us got to milk a REAL cow, too! (and, ate milk ice-cream). Thank you so much for ALL that you have done & still doing for us. Some nights, we prayed for you, so, do share with us your needs, too!

Attached are some projects that WK has the privileges to be involve with.
Till another Japanese hears the Good NewsWeng Kong, Jaine, Josephine & Angela

Dear partners in missions,

We appreciate your support to us & to the ministry in Japan. In these few months, we were challenged in many ways & many a times, we were reminded to pray & TRUST Him. Just to share a few testimonies:

1. Christmas CD Project 2007
WK is in charge of this project of creating a Christmas CD for distributions. But, he felt that I do not want to just distribute stuff to people. So, after much prayers & seeking the Lord, and later talking with some people, he decided to use this CD as a tool to witness & create opportunities for outreaches. Praying, too, that this will help to start some new cell groups in Japan. And, would be a good resources to Churches.

2. TMC (Tokyo Metro Church).
That's the name! To see cell churches grow in the marketplace! But, in fact, the theme is TMC, too. i.e. Transform My City! Yes, that is what we want to see God working in all the cities in Japan - Transform lives. We have been working with some groups, and, God has been doing amazing things! Here's a few lives that was transformed!

a. *Short version*: Two guys got saved. One is Shin and the other is Yuki. It is an awesome thing to partner with another. The mentor got mentored. Pray that Shin and Yuki will walk the walk and talk the talk. (full story is attached.)

b. Southern Baptist intern, Brian led Kazuo Kitamura on May 23.Brian was doing "5 min. Free English" at Shibuya, Kazuo approached him.Brian found out that Kazuo was seeking help, so made dinner appointment. They talked about 3 hours at that night, Finally Kazuo prayed to receive Christ. He came on June 7th seminar. Now he wants to get baptized. He is actually a son of a leader of a major cult in Japan. Now he is working for that organization. But he decided to move to new apartment and leave that job. I know it is a big decision. Please pray for spiritual protection for Kazuo. He is mid 30s and has two kids.Brian led Korean student, Thomas Yu last week. Thomas also came to the seminar on June 7th. Brian will continue to have "Bible study" with him.

c. Fumiko, the company presidentKenji who works for Yahoo at Roppongi also showed up at TMC seminar on June 7th.He brought a Christian lady. She used to be "professional POP singer" appeared on tv.Through her husband death, she became a Christian. Now she is a president of real estate company. She has a lot of property around Akasaka. We talked briefly after the seminar. I found that she is very much interested in new way of church planting. She could be a great resource for future TMC ministry. Please pray that we can meet her again to talk about how we can work together.

PLEASE PRAY with us as we are seeing God leading us to reach the Marketplace thru' TMC.

3. Developing new tools
Recently, WK was working on a new evangelistic CD that contains testimonies of baseball players. It was a challenge to translate it, and more challenging to have the japanese text to fit the timing of text in English! But, Praise God for providing some great Japanese Christians narrators!　You can see the English version here: http://reversingthecurse.org/index.html Pray with us as we put the Japanese version onto it.

4. This time was tough for us to leave Singapore. We really felt home in S'pore. Angela even wrote in her 'special book' that she would like to go back to S'pore during her summer break!

Coming back to Japan was ALOT of adjustments for us! But, in the midst of all the events & activities, we are always reminded to rely on Him & to constantly spend quality time with Him. Pray for Angela as she switched from the Japanese school to the Mission school(CAJ).

4. Pray for WK as he lead the different responsibilities & staff team:
a. NewLife movement: Mission teams coming in to help with saturating Japan.
b. But, recently, she has the opportunity to go for a trial class in CAJ. At the end of the day, she told Jaine that she 'now' want to go to CAJ. Jaine, out of curosity, asked her why. She said that 'I can learned about God in CAJ.'
We were touched & amazed by her response.

3. The first batch of Christmas CD arrived! And, already all gone! Not the results, not the events, not even us but HIM. Have been listening to a song (recomended by a Pastor who stayed at our place!). This song encourages me always when 'things don't go well' or 'not recognised for the work or position.'

When it's all been said and done. There is just one thing that matters
Did i do my best to live for truth. Did i live my live for YOU.

When it's all been said and done. All my treasures mean nothing.
Only what i've done for love's reward. Will stand the test of time.

Lord Your mercy is so great. That You look beyond our weakness.
And find purest gold in miry clay. Turning sinners into saints
I will always sing Your praise. Here on earth and ever after
For You've shown me Heaven's my true home.

When it's all been said and done. You're my life when life is gone.
(Don Moen, Thank You Lord)

PRAY WITH US:
We'll be doing the Easter outreach for our neighbourhood on this Saturday morn'. Pray for NO rain & hearts to be open to the gospel.
Thanksgiving. It fact it was the kids in Jaine's English class that asked for the Easter 'Party'. And, they are inviting their friends to come! Already more than 8 had signed up!
Weng Kong is coordinating more than 10 teams coming to Tokyo. And, working directly with 2 teams (1 of the team have 26 members!)
And, WK is in the process of working on a CDrom for distribution for the Worldcup. Pray that this will be use effectively to reach Japanese. Oh, and also on Davinci code, too., working on a site & handbook.
On 10thApril, after Angela's entrance to 1st grade, that same night, while WK was walking back, he met the vice principle. He offered us to speak in English to the SCHOOL on a regular schedule! Pray with us as we 'think' about this. (seems like an answered prayer, cos' we were thinking of reaching the school some years back- that was when we were planning NOT to send our girls to the school.)
We have updated some of our family shots & events, please see: http://www.geocities.jp/wkjaine63/spring/

Thank you for praying with us! We are still praying about the requests that you sent us. Please update us, too! or send us your prayer needs, too. It is a joy to be able to pray with you!

Till another Japanese hears the Good NewsWeng Kong, Jaine, Josephine & Angela

2006/03/22

Dear Partners in Prayer,

Thank you for keeping us in prayers. The past few weeks, God has been gracious to us in many ways. BUT, before that, we would like to share with you a report about Japan that we've just read:

Don’t know how credible it is in its details, but surely there’s SOMETHING going on here:
Click here to read:(don't worry, not spam.) More People Claim Christian Faith in Japan
The latest Gallup poll revealed a much higher percentage of Christians in Japan compared to previous surveys, including a surprising high number of teens who claimed the Christian faith, the Christian Post reports. In a country where only one percent is Christian among those who claim a faith, findings from one of the most extensive surveys of the country ever taken showed a Christian population of six percent. The popular, traditional religions - Buddhism and Shintoism - suffered declines. Of the 30 percent of adults who claimed to have a religion, 75 percent considered themselves Buddhists, 19 percent Shintoists and 12 percent Christians, according to Gallup. Of the 20 percent of youths who professed to have a religion, 60 percent called themselves Buddhists, 36 percent Christians and Shintoists. "These projections mean that seven percent of the total teenage population say they are Christians," said George Gallup Jr., who called the numbers "stunning."
And, thru' JapanCCC ministry results for 2005:

Expose to the Gospel: 600,211

Prayed & Invited Christ into their lives: 328

Trained in E & D : 174

Please join us to take a moment to thank our Awesome God for loving the Japanese & making all these to happen. I believe that God is (still) doing something great to His people. Let's kepp praying.

Now, back home:
1. Jaine had a great time at the women's conference. (think she'll write after she get settle down...)
And, we(Josephine, Angela & WK) survived & enjoyed! (We make a tent & over the weekend, they slept in it! They got some 'ang pow' (money given during Chinese New Year in a red packet.) & they went shopping! To WK's surprise, they went to buy things for Jaine! Spent some & put some for offering, too!

After coming back, Jaine was (busy). She was invited to a school(secondary/Middle-sch) to speak & the next day, to a commerical English learning school to speak about Easter!
Pray with us: Some people already asking us if we are going to do the Easter Party. They told us that they mentioned it to some of their friends & they are interested. Well, after praying, we decided to do it. Pray with us as we prepare for it. We definitely need more 'stuff'. Pray that we'll be able to get all that we need!

2. We were able to put the site up for narnia. www.narniajapan.com

3. Pray with us as WK work on the next movie! Davinic Code. If you do have any material, please let me know or send it to me! Honestly speaking, I don't really know much about it! Just borrowed the book & started reading!

4. We also just started testing on a response site system! Will share more, later.

5. The Student Center is ALMOST done! We will be having the first staff meeting on the 27th March! And, a dedication service with church leaders in April. Attached is one of the recent picture. or see a simple slide show that i put together:
http://www.geocities.jp/wkjaine63/begins
(sorry, seems like it might not work well with MAC.)

2006/02/16

Dear Partners in Prayer,

Thank you for praying for us & thank you, too, for sending us your prayer requests. We are praying for you.

Recently, I was reading Ephesians 5:1, "Be imitators of God, therefore, as dearly loved children." (NIV) and an article online, 'What did He say?' . I was reminded that my walk must match my talk. Especially in Japan, 'there is no clear define rules for living.', like recently there was a few vehicle accidents where the drivers were drunk & they killed a few pple. And, they were sentenced to 20yrs(e.g fo 1 case). We need to be imitiators of Christ at all time so that pple will see Christ in our lives & they will be convicted by the Holy Spirit to want to have Christ in their lives & live the way Christ wants us to.

Updates:
1. WK had influenza then, bronchitis, then tonsillitis! Pray for him as he try to get back his physical strength - exercising.

2. WK manage to upload the site for Narnia, www.narniajapan.com . Pray for him as he update it & work on a system for people to response to commitment & receive follow up thru' emails & internet. (will share more.)

3. Jaine just flew off today(16th). She will be attending a Women Conference (click for more info.)
BUT, at the same time she has at least 2 'missions' :
(a) To share the gospel with our parents & grandmum.
(b) To meet with our japanese staff studying in S'pore.
And, to spend some time with both of our churches.
Please pray with us that God will protect her at all times & the 3 of us back in Japan, too!

4. Mission Teams.
This April onwards, we will be having teams coming from Singapore, US, NYKoreans, Taiwan, HK & Korea. WK will be coordinating the teams with local staff teams. He will be working directly with 2 teams, too. Pray for good communications.

Pray for WK, too, to balance his time well, so that he could be on campus more often.(his desire is still to meet with students.)

Back Home:
1. This April, Angela will be enrolling to a neighbourhood Japanese school.
2. Josephine is in her 3rd grade. She learned about ministries in India, China & Norway. Recently, they even did a project & raised Yen44,000 for China! Thank You for supporting her education, too!
(NOTE: If you are lead to support her & Angela's education, please indicate 'WK & Jaine, Kid's education' at the back of your cheque.)

3. Jaine is still leading the 2 groups. Recently, at the mum's group, there was a great discussion about 'Father & children'.
-Pray that thru' this, they will be draw closer to The Father.
-And, Jaine is invited to speak at a Middle School on the 20thMarch.

Thank You again for standing with us.

Till another Japanese hears the Good NewsWeng Kong, Jaine, Josephine & Angela
