Dear Partners in missions, (attached for color version)
On TV, I believe what have been catching our attention is the main news of the world economic crisis, the election of the new US president, etc,... But on homefront, besides the "crazy" raising yen, the political environment that surrounds the election of the new prime minister, what really caught our attention were the devastating news of youths/young adults (16 -24 yrs old) going to the streets with a knife & stabbing ANYONE, or drive a vehicle & knocking down WHOEVER. "ANYONE would do, I don't care" were the comments.
Please pray for the youth, that they would experience God's love and know that there is a GOD who cares for them.
Thank you for praying with us. The Christmas CDs were ready in Mid-October and there are people who have already responded to the website. More than 2 indicated that they invited Christ into their lives! Pray that many more would receive the CD & hear the Gospel message. Pray, too, that many (Japanese / International churches, other missions groups, Japanese Christians) would use this CD to share the Gospel with the Japanese.
Due to the world economic crisis, people all over the world are having to deal with tough situations in life. In Japan, the "crazy"rise in the Yen, we believe, is affecting the missionaries here, as we have to be wise with our spending due to the lesser yen we received from our paycheck. It is not easy for us but we are constantly reminded of HIS grace.
Just today, God reminded me (Jaine) again "to come to HIM with thanks for ALL the things that He has blessed us with & NOT to focus on the things we don't have. Thanking God for ALL He has given us help us quickly gain a renewed perspective."
Let's remember to pray that in whatever tough situation we all are facing, that we will choose to remember that God is in control and learn to be content.
Christmas is Over?Well, with the Christmas Outreach moving on, WK began working on dubbing the movie 'Magdalena'. http://www.magdalenamovie.com/
We took about 2-3 weeks to translate & check the script and this week (11th-15th Nov), the Japanese dubbing has begun. We covet your prayers :
1. WK has been sick for more than 10 days, not fully recovered yet.
2. The dubbing is long & tiring, especially scenes like 'women possessed by the evil spirit',.. 'Jesus dying on the cross'. Pray for God's protection on the actors and actresses involved in the dubbing. Pray, too, that God will touch the lives of the actors and actresses through the movie as they do the dubbing.
3. Pray that the system would not break down!
4. Most of all, pray that many Japanese would get to know Jesus through this movie.
While Jaine is helping with the National Finance, she is also helping with the preparation in sending 2 Japanese short term workers to Sydney. By faith, we are trusting God to send them this Friday(14th Nov).Pray for Jaine as she helps them with the finance & admin preparation.
Our girls:
Angela turned 9 this month! She will be particiapting in the Annual Charity Run on Nov 22 organized by the Elementary school to raise money for 'Wheelchairs of Hope'. She will be running for 1 hour that day and is busy asking people to support this Run by giving a one-time gift or a certain amount for every lap she runs. We are thankful for this experience she could have to raise funds for the not so fortunate ones.
Josephine, a 6th grader, has adjusted well to Middle School life and had the opportunity to participate in Cross Country this past Fall season. For the Winter season (Nov-Feb), she has signed up for Field Hockey. We are thankful for her spirit of wanting to try out different sports, yet at the same time, we are concerned about the safety of this sport. "What is this sport? Will she get hit on her face? etc,..." Of course the school have safety precautions ready for this sport but as parents, we are still concerned.
Josephine has been growing (fast), too. And, as we were running out of slacks for her, one of our church member asked us if we need clothings for our girls. We said YES, and, there were some good slacks for her, too! Indeed God knows our needs and YOUR needs, all the time. We are praying that God will amazing continuously bless all of you, too.
We would also appreciate your prayers for our finacial needs, too.
Do send us your prayers, too!
Thank you for your partnership with us in so many ways.
